Communication is the key to creating impact through research. Throughout my work, I have been able to practice these skills through in-person outreach events as well as in media to bring awareness to the extent of research in the work place but to make the science more accessible as a whole.
In 2024, I served as a representative for the College of Health and Human Sciences at Iowa State University. During this presentation, I shared important research being conducted in my lab group, NexGenPPT. Through grants from organizations such as the CDC/NIOSH and FEMA, we were (and are) able to investigate and develop solutions to hazardous conditions in industries such as the fire service and commercial fishing.
